Use YouTube Without Losing Hours

YouTube has very good content, but like every website or application, it prioritizes entertainment over what we need. There are educational and nice videos, but the platform’s main goal is to keep viewers engaged. This often draws people to entertaining rather than informative content, which can be less useful.

This makes us waste more time, even though we could be more productive. Instead of focusing on meaningful tasks, we get caught in a loop of videos that add little value. It’s easy to lose track of time with addictive content, and before we know it, hours are gone that could have been spent learning or working on projects.

I’m not sure if this is a new feature, but YouTube has started showing related videos and a follow button at the top of the screen before the video ends. This is very distracting, especially when I am trying to read music sheets from the video.

A possible solution is to use uBlock to block these distracting elements.

Additionally, there is another add-on/plugin that allows me to block unnecessary channels and filter out specific words from my search results.
